With the Arizona LGBTQ Storytelling Project as its cornerstone collection and programmatic focus, the AQA is offering hands-on oral history workshops in and with communities who are committed to the power of everyday stories. Workshops last 2 hours and include access to four digital video camera equipment packages for shared technical learning and practice. From media literacy discussions to participatory practices around creating interview questions to actually interviewing techniques, workshop participants will leave with new experiences, technical capabilities, and a collective of community oral historians doing this work.
With COVID restrictions, in-person workshops are on-hold. Stay tuned if AQA organizers plan to host any virtual workshops in the coming months.
