POP-UP Archives Event

The POP-UP Archives Event of the Arizona Queer Archives featuring the Southwest Feminists Reunite Collection was a collaboration with Feminist Action Research in Rhetoric, FARR, a coalition of feminist scholars, artists, and activists of public scholarship. As a neighborhood walking tour, participants in this one-day POP-UP Archives witnessed the re-storying of the oral histories of 1960’s and 1970’s lesbian feminists in the places where such social justice moments and movements took place. The POP-UP Archives pulled the archival records out of the archives and back into the streets to re-mark the places and to facilitate a queered feminist (dis)location to provoke unruly, embodied, and sensuous encounters with local bodies of knowledge.
